Steel cube
Masking the number before rusting.
Six identical mild steel squares are gas welded along the edges and then ground square. The square hole reveals the thickness as being 20swg., or 0.9mm.
The ability of steel to oxidise or rust can be of interest, and here the number 15 is masked off, see slide, and a solution of salt water applied. This will take effect in a few hours, sooner in a warm environment.
