Stone box
Sawing stone by hand.
Improvised work holding using luggage strap.
This limestone is sawn by hand with a concrete saw I had to hand at home, held firmly down using luggage straps on a portable workbench in my backyard. See slides.
Working without the recommended or ideal tools or machines need not be a disadvantage providing it is safe to do so.
Making things slowly allows for concentration, control, encourages initiative and perhaps reflection.
The cracking of the stone produced a lid effect, similar to the intentional lidded boxes see no…and was thought worth keeping.
