Chelsea Arts students explore Virtual Reality Oculus Rift through Gravity Sketch

Students from Chelsea College of arts MA Graphic Design Communication and BA Interior Spacial Design courses were invited along to the Royal Collage of Art Innovation centre to help road test new developments in virtual reality (VR) software for Oculus Rift developed by Gravity sketch team.

The workshop was part of CCW Digital ongoing collaboration with students, staff and industry exploring emergent technologies and digital practice, read more about CCW UAL Tech Industry Collaborations.

BA Interior Spacial Design students testing out the new Gravity Sketch App: Students were first of all introduced to the tools on the new 3D drawing app being developed for the ipad by the Gravity Sketch team Daniela Paredes, Lorea Arano and Oluwaseyi Sosanya. Students were then shown the similar tools being developed for the VR software.

We are looking forward to working with the gravity sketch team in the new year and exploring 3D printing and Oculus Rift VR in Arts Education.
